We really like to push the MMA and UFC style training at the Huntington Beach Ultimate training center. Many professional fighters train here and we are proud to be their home training complex. However, not everyone who gets their training in Huntington Beach is looking to fight. Recently, renowned model Pamela Jean Noble was in, not to fight, but to trim up for the Miss California pageant. 

Kicking Ass and Take Names

While most people probably think getting ready for a pageant is easy, it’s not. Those girls are competitive, and it can get ugly back there. Fights break out all the time, and Pamela had to be prepared. Are you surprised Pamela would want to know a few moves for the competition? A little ground game for her fellow competitors and some stand up for the talent portion to impress the judges?

Ok, no, Pamela didn’t come in to prepare for a behind the scenes catfight. Though that would be…interesting. No, Pamela came in to train privately with Tiki after she saw him on TUF and thought “Hey, here’s the guy that can get me fit for a beauty contest.” And our personal training in Huntington Beach is the best!

And let’s face it; she was right! She looked amazing on stage and there was much drooling all around, no doubt. While she didn’t win the pageant, hopefully she’ll take the skills and knowledge of health and fitness she learned here and….Oh, she immediately scoffed a pizza after the contest? Well, she deserved it. But only one, Pamela!

Interview with Tiki Ghosn and Michael Bisping

In this clip, taken prior to the announcement that Sonnen was going to take Demian Maia’s place, you get the chance to hear from Michael’s MMA coach, Tiki Ghosn, as he talks about steps taken in preparation for the fight. Coach Brady weighs in on Bisping’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training, which he says has improved about 10 years in only a couple of months. Check it out:

It’s important to point out that Chael Sonnen became known for going the distance with the legendary Anderson Silva. Chael was the fighter that inflicted the most damage on Silva in 3 years, but was masterfully submitted by a triangle choke. Sonnen is an Olympic level wrestler, great striker, but not well known for his ability on the ground.

Bisping’s Muay Thai, Cardio, and Strength Training

The video below shows a light series of boxing and muay thai techniques, as well as an intensive sprint training on a steep hill to improve Bisping’s cardio. Props to his dog for keeping up with him during 10 sets of uphill sprints! Finally, you’ll see Michael in the gym, dealing with mid-power weight loads and intensive repetition, aimed at increasing muscle strength and agility instead of gaining mass. Take a look:

HBUTC has been busy lately. Way more than usual. But as we promised, we’ll bring you the best MMA in Huntington Beach right here on our blog.

Founder and head trainer Tiki Ghosn has been personally overseeing Mike Bisbing’s Training Camp in preperation for the fight with Demian Maia at the end of the month. Bisping is scheduled to fight on the next UFC on Fox event that takes place in Chicago.

In that very same card, Mike Easton will be a co-main event along with Chael Sonnen vs Mark Munoz

Tiki has brought in some of the top grapplers in MMA including Jake Shields, Brady Fink, and Dean Lister to make sure he is prepared for anything Maia can throw at him.

Training With Winners

Jake Shields is the man who weathered the storm against Jason Mayhem Miller and beat him back in November 2009 on Strikeforce. Cant remember that?

Remember Jake Shields now?

The man that just recently beat Mayhem (December, Ultimate Fighter Finale), training with the man who beat Mayhem a little over 2 years ago. Coincidence?

Certainly not a coincidence. Tiki Ghosn is known for his dedication to his students will go to great lengths to bring the best mma professionals to Huntington Beach.

Also On TV

As part of their UFC coverage, Fox filmed some of the training camp for their 24-7 special, airing on Thursday (1/19). So look for HBUTC to be the backdrop of the show and some of your favorite trainers to apear when the show airs!

UPDATE – Due to an elbow injury had forced Munoz to the sidelines (and possibly even surgery), changes have been made to Bisping’s card. He’ll now be fighting Chael Sonnen!

Chael is an extremely dangerous opponent that nearly took Anderson Silva’s “invincible” status down. Tiki and all of Bisping’s trainers are eager to show their training and have gladly accepted the sudden challenge.
